Calc Grade
The clock is ticking and finals week is here. The semester is over. If your current results are not what you expected it is easy to feel overwhelmed.. You still have total control over your final outcome. You do not need a miracle. You just need a plan to finish strong.
When you have limited time you cannot waste energy. You must be efficient to protect your GPA. Here is how you can improve your standing at the last minute.
You cannot guess where you stand. You need to know how much your remaining tasks and exams are worth. Most schools use a weighted grading system.
Use the Final Grade Calculator on CalcGrade.com to see scenarios. What is the minimum score you need on the final to pass the course? Seeing the numbers will reduce your anxiety and give you a goal to work towards.
Trying to learn the syllabus in a few days is not a good idea. You must focus on the parts that matter most.
Look at your syllabus to see which parts are worth the most. If your final exam is worth 30% of your mark and a homework assignment is only worth 2% you should focus on the exam.
If you find the exam topics hard make sure you are not missing points elsewhere. Get these points to help your average:
Participation and Attendance: Make sure you have done everything you need to do every day.
Credit: Do any extra work your teacher offers to improve your score.
Minor Assessments: Make sure you have turned in all your lab reports reading checks and short quizzes.
Do not send emails asking for help without a plan. Show your professor that you are organized and motivated.
Try saying something like this:
"Hi Professor I have been checking my progress using CalcGrade. I see that I am a little below my goal and I am committed to getting a grade in this course. Can I do some work or an extra assignment to show that I understand the material?"
Teachers, like students who take responsibility for their work.
